Planting Pollinator Berm in Byrd Park

Richmond is a Bee City, dedicated to creating and protecting habitats for our pollinators. We're looking for some worker bees to join LERN, the City of Richmond Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Facilities and the Friends of Byrd Park to install native plantings on a berm created earlier this year to divert storm water from a recently repaired bridge behind Dogwood Dell.

Volunteer Days are for both Thursday and Friday, 9 am - noon. You can sign up for either day or both.

We will be planting shrubs and plant plugs. Tools and gloves will be provided but please bring your own pair if you have that you prefer. Dress to get dirty and make sure to wear closed toe shoes.
